Sociology optional (Offline/Online) batch, is going to start from 1st June 2026.

Preliminary Reading Advised:
All those who are completely new to the subject are advised to go through the following books thoroughly before the classes begin to have the optimum benefit of the lectures.
> Start with the NCERT books for the 11th and 12th standards
> Followed by “Sociology – Its discipline and dimensions” by Parimal B. Kar; and
> Finally, “Sociology: Themes and Perspectives” by Haralambos and Heald (Old Haralambos)
These books must be read page by page, avoiding data. While studying, emphasis should be on conceptual (specific terms used in a discipline) clarification. The more conceptual clarity, the better the understanding and therefore the improved chance of scoring high.

Sociology Crash Course cum Test Series
Crash course to begin after declaration of prelims result, near about 14th June 2026.
The Sociology Crash Course cum Test Series is specially designed for aspirants preparing for UPSC Mains 2026 who want to strengthen their answer writing skills, improve conceptual clarity, and maximize their scores in Sociology Optional.
This program is ideal for students who have already completed a substantial portion of the syllabus and are ready to test, evaluate, and refine their preparation under expert guidance.
The course begins immediately after the UPSC Prelims Result, and students are expected to start preparing for the first test in advance, as the first test will be conducted on the very first Sunday after the program begins.
